Funny Story

So... funny story. Last Wednesday I left my office and started walking down the stairs into the train station. My brain and feet did not connect on the last step and down I went. I completely landed on the side of my foot and twisted my ankle. The guy in front of me heard me fall and helped me up. I could NOT stand on my left foot at all. The guy walked me to this motorized cart in the station and ran to find me crutches. He asked a cop, went to the ticket center....nothing. I said thanks to him and told him to go catch his train. Meanwhile, my coworker walks down the stairs and sees me in pain. The cop asks me if I want an ambulance and I refuse because I know it's not broken and it's not that serious and at this point it's just annoying and hurting. My coworker walks me to the train and I call my wife to let her know how clumsy I am. I jump on the train (actually I guess I hobbled) and Jaci met me at one of the closer stations and took me to urgent care. After finally getting to urgent care and taking off my boot, it was definitely swollen. A bunch of x-rays and poking and prodding occurred and it was concluded that I had a badly sprained ankle. I got a nice boot and some crutches. Needless to say, I've never been on crutches so that was fun.

Jaci took very good care of me and the pups. I'm now mobile and walking without the boot, thank gosh. On Saturday, we went to the local orchard with a couple of friends to pick some apples and check out some pumpkins. It's been great enjoying this fall season so far. I definitely didn't have that in San Diego!

So I'm onto the next step with the baby making process! I have the HSG next Wednesday at the RE. Not looking forward to that since the hysteroscopy was not at all fun. I'm also really interested in going over some of the blood work to figure out my whole PCOS stuff. Not having regular cycles is really inconvenient. I just hope to get some clarification because it makes me nervous about trying next year. I am staying hopeful!

  1. Oh no! Healing energy to you. Yaaay @ the next step in baby making. I've heard taking pain meds prior to the HSG helps. Good Luck!

  2. My wife and I are trying to do the baby making right now too! (and I have PCOS...) I didn't find the HSG to be that bad - a little uncomfortable but do-able. Good luck! (Are you still in San Diego? I grew up there but live in Northern CA now) -Sarah

  3. Philly sounds awesome, although cold.

I didn't do the hysteroscopy, just the HSG. Glad to hear you survived it ok! Clomid seems to make me ovulate (although I'm not pregnant yet) so I'm on to injections. Just a little heads up, Clomid made me sort of looney toons and I'm generally a pretty even keel person. So if you start taking it and feel like a crazy PMS person just be aware ;)

Enjoy your free time before the crazy starts!
